Digital Product Owner

We are looking for a Digital Product Owner to join our team in London on a full-time basis with hybrid working of 2-3 days per week. You will be responsible for the oversight, management and development of key digital products, particularly in the Delegated Authority Business around VIPR Intrali and Intarga.

You will ensure the key digital products are managed both strategically and operationally to support the overarching goal of improving Global Markets operational performance and contribute to achieving the business strategy.

You will also work with business and IT stakeholders to continuously review the key digital products to ensure they are meeting the needs of the business to enable efficient working practices aligned to the overarching strategy and the target operating model.

Overall objective

  • Ensuring the digital products (Focus on VIPR Intrali and Intarga, others include DAM, DCOM, Crystal) are maintained to deliver high quality results based on industry and Munich Re standard solutions, aligned to risk and compliance requirements.
  • Guiding the product’s evolution and development to align with strategic outcomes
  • Establishing, managing and supporting the development, implementation, embedding and continuous improvement of effective digital products with consistency ensuring compliance with Munich Re, PRA, FCA and Lloyd’s requirements
  • Undertake Product Configuration for Digital Products in line with the to-be-maintained backlog
  • Responsibility for end-to-end integrity of business capabilities using subject matter expertise and experience to ensure the digital products portfolio is designed and developed to meet our business objectives/strategy.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of a portfolio of digital products including assisting with planning, developing, testing, maintaining and configuring in accordance with the Business Owner role defined by the Munich Re methodology MR Essentials for developing and maintaining technology products.
  • Owner of the business cases for the assigned product portfolio balancing investments with economical gain
  • Work with the Change/Transformation project leads, business and technology architects as a point of contact for any projects that impact the digital products.
  • Work with IT Product Managers and architects to drive alignment, assessment and prioritisation of identified demands for each digital product.
  • Responsibility for sign off change requests, planning and executing product releases enhancements and upgrades.
  • Perform functional impact analysis on any proposed changes to the digital products.
  • Design, conduct and keep up-to-date user trainings ensuring evolving product capabilities are known and users know how to use the digital products effectively and efficiently

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience of managing underwriting applications both strategically and operationally
  • Sound and extensive experience with VIPR Intarga and Intrali or other similar applications in the Delegated Authority space
  • Preference for a candidate with an understanding of UK regulatory standards for insurance systems (e.g. Lloyd's oversight framework, PRA, FCA)
  • Strong experience in translating a business objective and strategy into defined services, operating model, product vision and roadmap and then oversee execution on the required roadmap.
  • Must have excellent report writing skills, experience of preparing reports and presentations for Senior management / Committee or Board review.
  • Must have ability to appropriately question, support and challenge the business at all levels and present considered and balanced opinions, findings and recommendations.
