The Path to Success – From Application to Onboarding

1. Your online application
5–10 minutes
Start your career at ERGO easily through our applicant portal – no registration needed! Choose a position, click “Apply Now,” fill out your details, and upload your documents. You’ll receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. We look forward to your application.
2. Review of your documents
2–4 weeks
Our recruiting team carefully reviews your documents. You can expect initial feedback within 14 days. If there are delays, we’ll keep you informed with an update.
3. Getting to know each other
4–8 weeks
You have impressed us, and we would like to get to know you better! We want to get to know you better! You’ll be invited to a personal interview or phone call to discuss your experiences and opportunities. Feel free to ask questions and learn more about the position.
4. Personal feedback
Within 2 days after our meeting, you will receive personal feedback. Your impressions are important to us for continuously improving our process.
5. Decision/contract conclusion
1–2 weeks
We are convinced that you are the right person for us and we are excited to offer you a contract! Once you sign, your employment with us becomes official. For higher positions, the entire process may take 7-13 weeks.
6. Your onboarding
3–6 months
After signing the contract, your onboarding begins with the Ready4ERGO app. From day one, we provide comprehensive offerings to help you feel comfortable. Our welcome event “Start to Grow” gives you insights into our company culture and helps you expand your network.

General questions
How can I apply to ERGO?
Apply online via our application portal. Go to the job advertisement and click on the ‘Apply online’ button.
Why should I apply online?
We only accept online applications. This method allows us to process your data quickly and in compliance with data protection regulations and to get back to you promptly. It also saves you time and money.
When can I expect to hear back?
After uploading your application, you will receive a confirmation email. Our recruiting team will review your documents and you will receive an initial response within two to four weeks.
How much time do I need for my application?
Our application process is efficient. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to upload your data. The CV is the only mandatory field.
How can I upload additional documents?
You can upload additional documents such as references and cover letters under ‘Attachments’.
Is there a limit to the file size of the documents?
Yes, the maximum file size is 50 MB, divided into five categories of 10 MB each.
What can I do if I don't find a suitable position on the job board?
Set up a personal job subscription by subscribing to your job filters. You will then be automatically informed of new job vacancies by email.
How does the selection process work?
After reviewing all applications, we will make a preliminary selection of suitable candidates and conduct initial interviews. Convincing applicants will be invited to a second interview before we make an offer.
What happens during an interview?
During the interview with the manager and recruiter, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the position and the team. Prepare well and think about why you want to become part of ERGO.
Do you cover travel expenses for the interview?
Yes, we cover the cost of travel to and from the interview by Deutsche Bahn (2nd class). Please clarify in advance if you are using other means of transport.
How long does the application process take?
The duration varies depending on the position. As a rule, the process can take 7 to 13 weeks, especially for higher positions with several interview rounds.
What should I bear in mind when writing my cover letter?
Use the cover letter to express your interest in the position and highlight your skills. It should be no longer than one A4 page and written in the language of the job advertisement.
What should I bear in mind when writing my CV?
Your CV should be in table format, contain relevant information, be divided into sections and no longer than two A4 pages. Focus on your current position and relevant qualifications.
Which references and certificates are relevant?
Relevant documents include your school leaving certificate, university degree certificates, certificates, proof of stays abroad and references.
Should I include a photo with my application?
A photo is optional. If you include one, make sure it is professional.
How should I prepare for the interview?
Think about questions that interest you and find out about our company. We want to get to know you and find out what is important to you.
How can I make a good impression in the interview?
Use the interview to find out whether we are a good fit. Ask questions to get a clear picture of what working with us would be like.

Information for students
In which areas does ERGO offer internships?
Visit our job board. We offer internships in areas such as accounting, actuarial science, consulting, engineering, finance, IT, marketing and more.
What documents do I need to apply for an internship?
For your application, you will need your CV and proof of enrolment; you can also include a cover letter and references if you wish.
How long do internships at ERGO last?
Mandatory internships usually last three to six months, while voluntary internships are possible for a minimum of eight weeks.
What are the requirements for a working student position?
Enrolment at a university is required. We require a minimum duration of twelve weeks.
How many hours can working students work?
Working students can work a maximum of 20 hours per week, while up to 38 hours per week are possible during semester breaks.
