Internship & Working Student Positions in Munich

Duration: 2–6 months. Contract extensions possible depending on the business unit. 
Start Date: Flexible. Internships can begin on the 1st or 15th of each month, in alignment with both your availability and the business unit’s requirements. 
Recruitment timeline: Recruitment for internship and working student positions take place year-round driven by the hiring business need. We encourage you to set up a job alert to keep informed on when new roles become available. 
Hiring units: Underwriting, Data Analytics, Reinsurance Accounting, Group Investment Management, Central Reserving, Human Resources, IT, Controlling, Real Estate Services, Communications, Procurement

What's in it for you:

  • Our internships are open to students completing a mandatory placement as part of their degree, as well as those seeking an internship to build professional experience

  • The option to write your thesis with us after your internship (subject to agreement)
  • Typically, our internships are full-time, i.e. 37 hours per week. If agreed with your host business unit, it is possible to reduce the working hours after two months of working
  • Opportunity to extend your internship or continue as a working student, if agreed with your business unit

What we are looking for:

  • You are currently enrolled at a college or university, or taking a gap year
  • You are at least in your 3rd semester of a bachelor’s degree
  • You have not completed your first master’s degree before or during the internship
  • Relevant experience is a plus but not required 


Please note: Applicants must have the right to work within Germany for these roles, e.g. a valid German residence or work permit is required.

Our team will carefully review your application against the position requirements. 

4 / Interview process 
If shortlisted, you can expect 1–2 interviews with the hiring business unit. The process may vary depending on the position; you will be notified about what to expect should you be selected to interview.
