Talent Acquisition Specialist (12m FTC)
About Munich Re
Munich Re is one of the world’s leading providers of reinsurance, primary insurance, and insurance-related risk solutions, with more than 45,000+ employees across over 50 locations worldwide. Guided by our purpose — Together, we engage with everything we have and are, to help humankind act braver and better — we transform uncertainty into opportunity, shaping the future of society through innovation, foresight, and collaborative excellence.
About the Europe & Latin America Region (EULA)
The EULA region is a diverse and strategically critical part of Munich Re’s global footprint, comprising highly specialised business units across reinsurance, specialty, corporate functions, and emerging markets. Our talent needs are broad and complex, requiring proactive, consultative, and data-driven acquisition approaches.
Within this ecosystem, the Regional Talent Acquisition Team partners across 11 countries in Europe and Latin America, connecting local business needs with global people strategies. We drive excellence in sourcing, hiring, market insights, diversity, employer branding, and relationship-based advisory to ensure our region attracts and secures the talent that will shape tomorrow’s Munich Re.
Purpose of the Role
The TA Specialist will be strongly aligned to one of our London-based businesses, Munich Re Specialty Global Markets (MRSGM), which is currently undergoing a period of exciting change and expansion. Talent Acquisition is a core part of its strategic deliverables.
As a member of our Talent Acquisition team, you will be an integral part of the Europe and Latin America regional TA team, partnering primarily with MRSGM and supporting other businesses as required.
Responsible for sourcing and delivering a strong candidate pipeline for current and future positions across Underwriting and Claims professions for MRSGM, you will also manage internal, external, and referral candidate relationships and be instrumental in drafting engaging external advertisements aligned with our employer brand.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Partnering
- Lead the development and execution of end-to-end hiring strategies for your assigned business areas, aligned to regional and global priorities.
- Consult senior stakeholders on talent needs, talent availability, and future workforce implications; advise on innovative and diverse talent approaches.
- Serve as the primary contact for recruitment topics within your business area, providing insights, coaching, and appropriate challenge.
Candidate Engagement & Full-Cycle Acquisition
- Engage and attract active and passive talent through Munich Re’s career narrative, bringing to life our value proposition, opportunities, and regional strengths.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including briefings, sourcing, screening, assessment, interviews, offer management, and closing.
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience by maintaining communication, motivation, and transparency at all stages.
Market Insights & Data Analytics
- Conduct and synthesise external market analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for the business.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and HRBPs to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain accurate documentation on candidates and hiring processes, ensuring compliance through digital tools (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors).
Support Regional Projects
- Execute local, regional, or cross-business TA projects, contributing to process improvements, best practices, and the evolution of the global HR function.
- Collaborate closely with regional TA and HR communities, contributing to initiatives such as employer branding, early careers, sourcing strategies, DEI action plans, and technology enhancement.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Embed DEI principles at every stage of the recruitment lifecycle, challenging bias and championing inclusive hiring practices.
- Partner with regional DEI teams to activate programmes supporting diverse pipelines and equitable selection.
Talent Pools & Future Skills
- Build, nurture, and qualify regional talent pools for critical and emerging capabilities.
- Identify current and future talent gaps, advising business areas on workforce availability and alternative talent routes.
Key Stakeholders
You will work closely with a range of stakeholders to deliver an effective, inclusive, and data-driven recruitment service, including:
- Hiring Managers and interview panels (primarily within MRSGM Underwriting and Claims)
- MRSGM leadership and business stakeholders
- HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and local HR colleagues
- Europe & Latin America (EULA) Regional TA colleagues and the wider TA community
- DEI and Employer Branding/Communications partners
- Reward/Compensation, HR Operations, and HR Systems (e.g., SuccessFactors) teams.
- External vendors, including agencies and assessment providers (where applicable)
Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in talent acquisition within complex, matrixed, and international environments. Insurance Industry experience is preferred.
- Proven track record in full-cycle recruitment, consulting senior stakeholders, and influencing talent decisions.
- Strong expertise in proactive sourcing using modern tools and methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse market data, trends, and talent insights to shape hiring strategies.
- Strong communication skills, able to convey Munich Re’s story in a compelling, inclusive, and engaging way.
- Experience in global or regional project execution. Early Careers events
- Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors or similar ATS platforms.
- Exposure to employer branding or candidate-experience initiatives.
- Insights into DEI best practices for recruitment.
- Effective communicator in English, with the ability to adapt tone, content, and delivery for diverse and cross-cultural audiences.
- Comfortable working in an environment of ambiguity and change, with rapidly changing priorities; able to manage multiple requisitions and prioritise as needed to deliver successful outcomes.
- Cultural agility and experience working across multiple geographies is desirable.
If you are excited about this role but do not meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. You might just be the candidate we are looking for!
