Head of Equipment Breakdown Practice
The successful candidate will serve as the Profit and Loss (P&L) owner for single-risk Equipment Breakdown (EB), driving strategic direction and growth for the business. In close collaboration with Complex Risk Solutions (CRS) leadership and other key business units, this individual will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the EB practice and product development, tailored to meet the unique needs of agency, broker, and wholesaler distribution channels. As a thought leader, they will stay attuned to market trends and customer needs, providing expert insights and guidance both internally and externally. With oversight of underwriting operations across all single-risk market segments, this person will champion best practices in risk evaluation, agent engagement, process optimization, and technology utilization. Ultimately, they will be accountable for delivering a seamless and efficient agent/broker experience, from submission to bound policy, and will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the ongoing competitiveness and profitability of our EB products in the marketplace.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
10+ years’ experience in the insurance and/or reinsurance industry, with 3+ years’ experience in the EB or Property insurance segment.
Commercial Underwriting and Business Development experience preferred
CPCU or relevant insurance industry designation preferred
Experience in driving strategic initiatives and/or project management
Deep knowledge of competitive landscape and competitor practices in underwriting, process, distribution preferred.
