Chief Strategy & Market Intell Officer

Job Description
The Chief Strategy and Market Intelligence Officer (CSMIO) will serve as a pivotal member of the Portfolio Risk Solution (PRS) Leadership Team. CSMIO will shape the strategic vision, drive business growth, deliver actionable market insights and foster deep product knowledge with client companies to position the organization as a leader in the specialty reinsurance industry. Reporting directly to the President of Portfolio Risk Solutions, the CSMIO will lead various functions - strategy formulation and execution, business unit process optimization, market insights on competition, clients and ecosystem, and client engagement and education. This role integrates multi-disciplinary functions, fosters innovation, and positions the organization as a leader in the specialty reinsurance markets. By fostering effective communication and coordination, the role collaborates with internal teams, other HSB divisions, Munich Re/GSI divisions, clients, and partners to identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth, innovation, and differentiation in the market.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred in Business, Insurance or related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in insurance, reinsurance or related fields with focus on Specialty Insurance influencing and collaborating with senior level staff
- 7+ years of experience managing or leading complex, cross-functional projects.
- 7+ years of experience in influencing and collaborating with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
- 7+ years of experience navigating and executing within complex organizations, including matrixed or global structure.

- Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and navigate ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
- Strong strategic and analytical mindset, synthesizing data, and insights into actionable strategies.

- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and address the needs of diverse stakeholders, balancing business objectives with customer and partner expectations.
