Insurance Consulting is one of Munich Re’s areas of strategic growth, comprising energetic and expert data scientists, actuaries, and product developers who are pushing the boundaries of (re)insurance. We act as a trusted risk advisor to primary insurance companies, focusing on analyzing and improving insurance portfolio performance and supporting clients in creating and executing new business opportunities across motor, property, and casualty lines.


Based in Bogotá, this position is part of a regional LATAM consulting team, working with insurance companies across multiple countries. This role is offered as a full‑time professional internship with a fixed duration of six (6) months, providing hands‑on exposure to actuarial consulting in a real business environment.

Your Job

As an Actuarial Intern in our Insurance Consulting team, you will support real consulting projects for insurance company clients and gain first‑hand exposure to portfolio analysis and data‑driven decision‑making. You will work closely with experienced actuaries, consultants, and data scientists in a collaborative and international environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the preparation and consolidation of high‑quality pitch and proposal materials
  • Assisting with actuarial, portfolio, and business analysis
  • Supporting business development activities related to consulting engagements
  • Contributing to the development of business intelligence dashboards for internal and external use
  • Providing coding and analytical support on an ad‑hoc basis
  • Conducting market and portfolio research to understand client needs
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal stakeholders across teams
  • Working proactively within and beyond the consulting team

Your Profile

This position is offered exclusively as a professional internship. To be eligible, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
  • Be in the final semesters of your studies
  • Be available for a full‑time internship of six (6) months
  • Please note: Graduated professionals are not eligible for this position

Additionally, you:

  • Are detail‑oriented and capable of delivering high‑quality analytical work
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and interest in learning about insurance and consulting
  • Are proactive, collaborative, and open to sharing ideas
  • Are motivated, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • Are fluent in English and Spanish (Portuguese is an advantage)

Nice to have:

  • Some programming experience in R, SAS, and/or Python
  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar BI tools

Additional Information

  • This position is based in Bogotá, Colombia
  • Visa or work permit sponsorship is not available for this role
  • Candidates must have the legal right to work / intern in Colombia at the time of application
