About Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB)
Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), a proud part of Munich Re, is a leading engineering and technical risk insurer providing equipment breakdown and specialty coverages, inspection services, and engineering consulting. We deliver tailored risk solutions, evaluations, and mitigation services to clients across all industries—helping them optimize equipment reliability, lifespan, and operational efficiency.
Engineering expertise is at the core of everything we offer. We insure many of the world's most complex and sophisticated facilities—including power generation, renewable energy, industrial manufacturing, data centers, public entities, and small to medium businesses.
HSB introduced the concept of predicting and preventing downside risk in 1866, when it introduced boiler inspections as part of its insurance value chain. From establishing the nation’s first boiler safety standards to deploying modern Internet of Things (IoT) sensor solutions, HSB has consistently driven industry innovation. We seek forward-thinking experts who are passionate about advancing risk engineering and reshaping how we safeguard technical infrastructure.
