Working within Premier Guarantee, part of the Munich Re family, the role will be ensuring compliance with the associated Technical Manual and Building Regulation.

We don’t just inspect—we help build confidence. At Premier Guarantee, you’ll be part of a specialist team supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality new build and newly converted buildings across the UK. What You’ll Be Doing

As the technical expert within your area of registration, you’ll be a key point of contact for other Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team. You’ll apply your Building Regulations expertise to assess and process applications efficiently, while building strong relationships with clients, builders and technical colleagues.

You’ll:

  • Assess building control applications for low-rise residential developments of up to three storeys, within your RBI class banding.
  • Act as the primary client contact during the design phase, including managing design amendments during construction and supporting effective compliance with Building Regulations.
  • Check and monitor projects accurately, ensuring statutory consultations are completed within required timescales and appropriate design evidence is provided.
  • Contribute to applications for other development types under supervision, supporting the expansion of your experience and scope of registration.
  • Help resolve technical and compliance issues relating to initial notices, design approvals, site work and final certificates.
  • Support Risk Management Surveyors with technical advice and key inspection stages for complex building control elements, in line with supervision and escalation policies.
  • Carry out site inspections where required and within your RBI class banding.
  • Provide technical support and escalation for Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
  • Champion quality and regulatory compliance, contributing to monitoring, sampling, audit activity and continuous service improvement.
  • Support house type approvals and bespoke building control quotations where required.
  • Promote Premier Guarantee services and build positive relationships with existing and potential clients.

What Makes This Role Special

  • Meaningful impact: Use your expertise to support safe, compliant residential development and uphold high standards in building control.
  • Technical influence: Become a trusted technical contact for Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team.
  • Continuous growth: Broaden your experience and scope of registration through exposure to different developments and technical challenges.
  • Trusted brand: Build your career with Premier Guarantee, part of the wider Munich Re family.

What You Bring

  • Strong technical knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant construction standards.
  • The ability to undertake site inspections and assess construction quality and building defects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with construction professionals, clients and members of the public.
  • Commercial awareness and a collaborative approach.
  • The ability to manage your own workload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
  • A flexible approach, with the confidence to use your own initiative and positively influence others.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum Associate-level or similar surveying qualification, such as AssocRICS, TechCIOB, Grad CABE, ACABE or equivalent, with the ambition to progress towards full chartered membership.
  • Registration as a minimum Class 2A Registered Building Inspector.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • A full UK driving licence (automatic or manual).

What We Offer

  • 25 days annual leave (with the ability to purchase more), plus 2 wellbeing days and volunteer days.
  • Annual profit share bonus
  • Free private medical and dental (with the option to upgrade)
  • Pension – up to 10% employer contribution
  • Access to health and wellbeing programmes, employee assistance programmes and occupational health support.
  • Stay connected with mobile phone and tablet devices provided for work
  • Cycle to work scheme and access to discounts through various retailers with Reward Gateway
