You will also play a key analytical role in identifying operational inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and enhancing end to end treaty processes.

Your Role:

Treaty Setup & Administration

  • Responsible for the end-to-end set-up of treaties and defining all critical terms within the treaty system, for various products (Life, Health, Group, Financial Reinsurance, Longevity, Retrocession, etc.).
  • Interpret treaty language to assess operational impacts, data requirements, and system configuration needs.
  • Validate treaty parameters, retention limits, and financial terms for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update mapping to internal treaty databases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of key data fields.
  • Analyze and resolve cession records that don’t meet treaty terms by identifying root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of data quality rules and controls, tracking and resolving data-quality issues in collaboration with business and technical teams.
  • Coordinate and oversee integration between treaty systems and other platforms to ensure smooth data flow and alignment with business needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, documentation, and controls for treaty setup.
  • Create clear reports highlighting risks, dependencies, and process gaps to help management make informed decisions.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with pricing, actuarial, underwriting, claims, finance, legal, and IT teams to resolve data issues, clarify requirements, and deliver on business objectives.
  • Act as an operational advisor, translating treaty terms into actionable steps and raising considerations for decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on treaties, supporting internal teams and external partners with operational impacts of treaty changes.
  • Partner with finance to set up treaties in the system for timely quarter-end reporting.
  • Collaborate with Marketing throughout the treaty lifecycle—from Letter of Intent to amendments and closure.
  • Coordinate with US Treaty Team and Canadian Pricing Team to ensure new deals and amendments are entered on time and reflected in operations for accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, documentation, and updates for management and external partners.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing clear documentation of treaty terms, processes, and data flows.

Future-Focused Innovation & AI/ML Integration

  • Explore and implement AI/ML tools to automate treaty setup and analysis where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and automated reconciliation to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of experience in treaty administration, reinsurance operations, or data analysis roles.
  • Understanding of treaty structures, retention limits, and insurance products
  • Proficient with SQL and relational databases.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables; Power Query/Power Pivot a plus).
  • Familiarity with reinsurance administration systems and/or data warehouse environments is an asset.
  • Experience in Master Data management to ensure data integrity, consistency and governance across systems.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical problem-solver who moves from detailed data to clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Curious and innovative, with a habit of digging deeper into data trends.
  • Detail-oriented with a disciplined approach to documentation and data quality.
  • Ability to connect contractual wording, operational processes, and data structures.
  • Clear communicator; collaborative, team-oriented mindset with ownership.

Nice to Have
