Munich RE, a leading global reinsurer, is recruiting for a Regional Manager – Group Life for its business in Southeast Asia (SEA). A dominant player in the SEA market, Munich RE reinsures a comprehensive range of products covering death, disability, critical illness, health, and long-term care risks.

As a Regional Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth of Group Life business, managing delivery of large Group Life quotes, and fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Based in Singapore, you will report to the Head – Group Life, Southeast Asia.

Your Role:

Business Development:

·Support the Head of Group Life in the development and execution of strategies to drive growth of Group Life business in the Southeast Asian market.

·Identify new business opportunities; and build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Quote Management and Delivery:

·Lead the delivery of large Group Life quotes, ensuring timely and successful delivery meeting clients expectation and internal standards.

·Coordinate with various stakeholders, including regional office of Munich Re, underwriting, accounts, and legal, to ensure seamless delivery of quotes.

·Develop and implement pricing strategies for Group quotes, backed by comprehensive experience studies and data analysis.

Technical and Operational Expertise:

·Provide actuarial pricing and case underwriting support for facultative group employee benefits schemes, group affinity schemes, and group credit life schemes.

·Monitor and manage treaty performance, taking proactive action to ensure profitability and coordinating with clients to ensure timely settlement of accounts.

·Identify and drive projects to automate existing process and gain operational efficiency.

·Provide excellent service and support to clients, ensuring timely delivery of quotes, signing of treaties, settlement of accounts and resolving any issues that may arise.

·Ensuring that client needs are met and expectations are exceeded.

Your Profile:

·Strong understanding of the Group life insurance business, benefits, and practices in Southeast Asian markets (essential).

·Part / Qualified Actuary from a recognized actuarial body, e.g. SOA / IFoA, or similar.

·Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the life (re)insurance industry.

·Experience in various life benefits pricing, and / or inforce management.

·Strong project execution skills, with the ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.

·Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets and draw actionable insights.

·Proficient in Excel (can performcomplex functions and write advanced macros), SQL, and Power BI, with familiarity with other data analytics tools and software.

·Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

·An existing professional network in the Southeast Asian markets would be advantageous.
