Our central functions provide the foundation for MEAG's sustainable growth and success in a dynamic market environment. Our experts drive strategy, stability, and innovation in areas such as research, finance, ESG, HR, and communications. Together, they enable us to make clear decisions, recognize opportunities, and actively shape our future.

Research

Research provides the basis for our investment decisions. We combine macroeconomics, quantitative models, and capital market research, develop scenarios, analyses, and strategies, and make complex market movements understandable. In close cooperation with portfolio management and the Executive Board, we shape capital market insights and the investment strategy of tomorrow.

Operations & Portfolio Processing

The Operations & Portfolio Administration division handles the operational processing of our investments—from alternative assets and derivatives to securities and MEAG funds. This includes master data maintenance, transaction processing, settlement, posting, and central reporting and quality processes. In this way, we ensure that valuations, regulatory requirements, and capital measures are implemented correctly at all times and that the investment process runs smoothly.

Finance

The Finance function ensures that MEAG is financially strong, transparent, and future-oriented. We plan, manage, and analyze the company's financial development, thereby creating a reliable basis for clear decisions and sustainable growth. At the same time, we identify and manage risks at an early stage – ensuring stability in a dynamic market environment. With a high level of technical expertise, we support MEAG as a whole as well as companies within the Munich Re Group, providing clear financial and regulatory guidance.

Legal, Regulatory & Compliance

The Legal, Regulatory & Compliance department supports MEAG with comprehensive legal expertise across all asset classes, accompanies transactions from due diligence to contract management, and advises on fund structuring and regulatory requirements such as MiFID, WpHG, and ESG. Compliance ensures that MEAG acts responsibly, in compliance with regulations, and with an awareness of risks—thereby strengthening the integrity and sustainability of the company in the long term.

Transformation & Strategy

Transformation & Strategy shapes the future of MEAG, identifies growth potential, and derives strategic impulses from market and competition analyses. Together with the specialist departments, we are driving forward Ambition 2030, questioning the status quo, and developing new solutions for successful alignment in a dynamic market environment. With our professional process and project management expertise, we use organization as an effective tool to solve challenges more quickly and efficiently.

ESG & Sustainable Finance

ESG & Sustainable Finance shapes MEAG's sustainable orientation and continuously develops our ESG strategy. As a center of excellence, we support the specialist departments in anchoring ESG criteria in all asset classes, implementing regulatory requirements, and practicing sustainability in day-to-day business. In this way, we strengthen MEAG's future viability and promote responsible investment.

Human Resources

Human Resources actively shapes the working environment at MEAG: we attract and develop talent, promote modern collaboration, and support personal growth. Our responsibilities include recruiting, personnel development, supporting employees and managers, and services such as payroll and general services. As ONE TEAM, we work closely with all departments, thereby making a key contribution to MEAG's future viability—today and tomorrow.

Communications

Communications shapes MEAG's internal and external communications and strengthens the company's profile both internally and externally. In external communications, we work closely with specialist media and are responsible for all relevant channels as well as the MEAG website. Our aim is to deliver clear, relevant, and effective messages that strengthen our brand and reach our stakeholders.

Reporting

The Reporting division creates transparent, high-quality investment, ESG, and regulatory reports for the entire Munich Re Group and institutional clients. It provides comprehensive data on all asset classes, delivers key ESG KPIs, and ensures that all legally required disclosures are made on time. MEAG Reporting thus supports informed decision-making, strengthens regulatory compliance, and ensures a consistent, reliable picture of investments.
