AVP Equip Tech Lab

Manages engineering staff and coordinate activities in support of Applied Technology Solutions, Loss Control Engineering, Underwriting, Claims, Inspection Services and New Product Development.  This person is responsible for directing the identification, demonstration, and validation of leading-edge technologies to enhance our core equipment breakdown insurance product and drive new business development opportunities. This role will ensure the effective application of engineering rigor and data-driven decision-making to deliver business value, improved customer experience, and technological efficacy.

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree with an Engineering major is required.
• Advanced technical degrees, registration as a Professional Engineer, and insurance experience and designation are desired (i.e. CPCU, ARM, etc.)
• 10+ years of experience in loss control, managing engineering/technical projects and/or insurance business.

• Knowledge of HSB Insurance products
• Occupancy exposure knowledge
• Strong presentation and training skills
• Excellent communications skills (oral and written)
• Strong understanding of equipment technology, including emerging trends, IoT, and innovations.
• Familiarity with data analysis, hypothesis testing, and data-driven decision making.
