SVP Portfolio Risk Solutions
The SVP of Portfolio Risk Solutions (PRS) oversees a $1.3B portfolio of assumed reinsurance across 250+ client relationships. This senior executive drives strategic profitable growth, product/service innovation, and digital transformation, while fostering high-impact partnerships with senior leaders across the P&C insurance industry. This position provides strategic vision, direction, and expertise to the team of client managers, product managers, portfolio risk analysts, client operations managers, client engagement and education team ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives. The role requires a deep understanding of the P&C insurance market, HSB’s specialty products and services, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex business environments. A key aspect of this role will be to evolve and innovate the current offering of portfolio risk solutions with a forward-looking vision towards “predict & prevent” model.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the P&C (re)insurance industry, with a focus on product management, underwriting, client management, etc.
- Proven track record of success in leading teams, driving business growth, and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- Advanced degree, such as a Juris Doctorate (JD), a Master's in Business Administration (MBA), Master's in Finance, or a related field, is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of P&C (re)insurance products, markets, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex business environments and make informed decisions.
- Ability to think strategically and drive business growth through innovative solutions, including portfolio risk solutions, and strong relationships.
- Ability to lead and manage high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including portfolio risk solutions.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions, including portfolio risk solutions.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders, driving business growth and retention through portfolio risk solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
