As the Senior HR Business Partner for Munich Re Munich, you will partner closely with Group Technology leaders to translate business priorities into an effective people strategy that supports organizational growth, performance, and transformation. 

As part of the Global HRBP team supporting Group Technology, you will represent Munich Re Germany while collaborating across regions, functions, and group companies to develop and implement people solutions that support both local and global business objectives. Together with the Strategic HR Business Partner (SHRBP), you will drive leadership, talent, performance, and succession initiatives, support the recruitment of management positions, lead strategic projects, and partner with employee representatives to foster a positive and productive work environment.

Your Job

  • Drive and support change processes by implementing HR-related organizational change measures in cooperation with management, Group Technology Organization Design, HR Competence Centres and the works council/speakers' committee
  • Participate, together with the SHRBP on strategic planning, Executive Reviews, local and global HR initiatives, and other strategic projects
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end Talent Review process for selected Group Technology Towers, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership and the SHRBP for effective talent planning and succession management
  • Lead recruiting efforts for key positions within Munich and the reinsurance group, utilising both internal and external sources as well as talent pools across the Munich Re Group
  • Provide expert guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (DEI, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management & Development, Rewards) to ensure the business attracts, recruits, develops, and retains talent
  • Leverage HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement across all HR initiatives
  • Cooperating closely with the works council and the speakers’ committee at Munich Re 

Your Profile

  • University degree in business administration, law, or social sciences, or similar (HR) qualification
  • 7+ years in-depth experience in core HR areas, with strong expertise in applying modern HR practices and policies strategically to business needs
  • Proven track record in managing multiple complex topics simultaneously, including experience in international project work
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a well-rounded, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset, capable of working effectively across diverse SHRBP teams
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, with strong analytical skills and a structured and pragmatic approach to problem‑solving
  • High empathy and excellent communication skills, enabling strong partnerships with managers at all organizational levels
  • Strong consulting capabilities and extensive experience in managing cross-functional interfaces
  • Self-driven, highly organised, and motivated to make an impact
  • Business fluent in German and English
