Investment Manager, Investment Steering RI International (m/f/d)*

Standort München, Deutschland Art der Arbeit Vollzeit Arbeitsform Hybrid Job level Berufserfahrene Job ID 14406 Unternehmen Munich Re Anstellungsart Unbefristet Fachbereich Asset & Investment Management
Jetzt bewerben

Group Investment Management (GIM) manages Munich Re and ERGO’s proprietary investment portfolio of approximately €250bn. Within GIM, Investment Steering turns strategic and tactical asset allocation deci-sions into effective portfolio implementation for Reinsurance and ERGO P/C. The Reinsurance Internation-al team (GIM 2.2.2) steers more than 25 international legal entities and branches and connects investment steering expertise across Munich Re and ERGO.

We are looking for an Investment Manager who enjoys creating clarity in a complex, international environ-ment. You will take ownership of ERGO NEXT investment topics and connect stakeholders across ERGO NEXT, ERGO Düsseldorf, GIM US, MEAG and Munich Re. As the central coordination point, you will shape governance, reporting and management decisions—not simply administer processes.

This is a visible role with room to make an impact: strengthen the integration and growth of ERGO NEXT Insurance, improve transparency and operational effectiveness, and advance digital and AI-enabled in-vestment steering across our international portfolio. You will also lead cross-functional projects and con-tribute directly to strategic initiatives within GIM 2.2.

Your Job

  • Own ERGO NEXT Insurance investment topics within GIM 2 and align US STAT legal-entity perspectives with the ERGO Group IFRS management view
  • Connect ERGO NEXT Finance and Treasury with GIM US and ERGO Group functions, including Controlling, Integrated Risk Management and Finance, to resolve requests quickly and clarify responsibilities
  • Build and continuously improve the ERGO NEXT reporting framework, delivering transparent, timely and decision-ready insights to management and key stakeholders
  • Shape Investment Committee and other senior governance forums, including EGB meetings, by preparing clear analyses, recommendations and decision materials
  • Drive the digitalization of investment steering processes and tools, using AI-enabled solutions to strengthen steering, monitoring, analytics and reporting across international legal entities
  • Enhance management information through automation, advanced analytics and improved data quality
  • Act as a trusted sparring partner to the Head of Department and the leadership team, and lead cross-functional projects from stakeholder alignment and workshops through to senior-management recommendations

Your Profile

  • University degree in business, economics, finance or a related discipline; a CFA or comparable professional qualification is an advantage
  • Relevant experience in asset or investment management and capital markets, combined with an understanding of investment reporting, financial planning and analysis, insurance governance and IFRS balance-sheet implications
  • Digital and data-driven mindset, ideally with experience leveraging AI, automation or analytics to improve reporting, processes or decision-making; confidence with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Power BI
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, sound judgement and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach, with the ability to take ownership and drive projects independently
  • Clear, concise and persuasive communication, with the confidence to engage senior internal and external stakeholders in an international environment
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted networks across disciplines, cultures and organizational boundaries
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German
