Kick-Start your career with an internship at Munich Re

Build on your academic knowledge and gain hands-on professional experience through an internship or working student role in Munich. You'll learn from our experts and get a deep dive into the world of reinsurance. From underwriting and investment management to data analytics, human resources, or IT technology, our internship opportunities are diverse and allow you to find out what kind of career would be yours.

Duration: 2-6 months, further extensions are possible, depending on the unit's needs

Start: Possible on the 1st and 15th of each month in alignment with your and the business unit's requirements.

Joining as a voluntary or mandatory intern or as a working student, you will gain first practical working experience, start building your professional network and benefit from our student community.

It is also possible to write your thesis with us after a successfully completed internship. This must be agreed individually with the respective unit.

What makes you a great match

Our requirements to join us as an intern or working student:
- You can complete a mandatory or voluntary internship or a working student position with us.
- You are currently enrolled at a college or university or are taking a gap year between two courses of study.
- The first master’s degree may not have been completed before or during the entire internship/ working student position.
- You are at least in your 3rd semester of your bachelor's degree.
- Previous relevant experience is an advantage but not a must
- Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit.

Many of our internships are full-time, i.e. 37 hours per week. However, after individual alignment with the department, it is generally possible to reduce the working hours after two months of working.

Upon individual agreement with your supervisor, it is also generally possible to extend the internship or continue in a working student position at Munich Re.
