MRSGM NA Temporary Underwriting Assistant, Surety

Location: 

• Schaumburg, IL  Hybrid Role: In-office two days. Work remotely three days a week.

Munich Re Specialty Group North America (MRSG N.A.) is seeking enthusiastic and talented individuals to join us as we grow. As part of Munich Re Group, we are a unique organization providing expertise in specialty and marine lines of insurance as well as surety risks and custom bonds with in-house claims solutions.

We are seeking a Temporary Underwriting Assistant, Surety to join the Roanoke Insurance Group division as a hybrid employee in our Schaumburg, IL office reporting to the AVP, Surety Underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Processing of LC and GIA Documents; Contact with Financial Institutions where necessary
• Input, Scanning, Filing and Processing of all documents received
• Quarterly rating updates for LC’s using IDC and S&P information
• Daily and Monthly Reconciliation of Collateral Records utilizing Excel and proprietary software
• Processing bond terminations and related system documentation
• Retrieving, formatting, and distributing monthly Renewal Reports
• Custom Bond Renewal Underwriting
• Financial analysis and spreadsheet support

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in accounting, finance or business related - or - Associates Degree in accounting, finance or general business
• No initial Underwriting Authority given; subject to change based on training and performance with max level authority of no more than $500M.
• Attention to detail
• Ability to monitor and meet deadlines
• Effective oral and written communication
• Ability to take direction and prioritize
• Beginner/moderate level Excel
• Beginner/moderate level Word

The rate anticipated for this position is $25/hour.
