Distribution and Sales Analyst
Distribution and Sales Analyst
We’re adding to our diverse team of experts and are looking to hire those who are committed to building a culture that enables the creation of innovative solutions for our business units and clients. We will consider a range of experience for this role and the offer will be commensurate with that.
The Company
As a member of Munich Re's US operations, we offer the financial strength and stability that comes with being part of the world's preeminent insurance and reinsurance brand. Our risk experts work together to assemble the right mix of products and services to help our clients stay competitive – from traditional reinsurance coverages, to niche and specialty reinsurance and insurance products.
Munich Re Facultative and Corporate (MR F&C) was created to bundle Munich Re’s facultative and corporate business into one global unit. We believe that by aligning our single risk business in one unified team we will better position Munich Re to provide a holistic suite of products and services that meet the growing demands of our clients and broker partners.
The Opportunity
Future focused and always one step ahead!
The Distribution & Sales Analyst supports business development, distribution strategy, and underwriting priorities for the US and Canada by delivering actionable insights and targeted market intelligence. This role partners closely with client-facing teams to enhance prospecting, deepen client relationships, and support growth initiatives.
The analyst conducts research across clients, brokers, industries, competitors, and our data, synthesizing findings into clear, decision-ready briefings that inform sales strategy and client engagement. While grounded in strong analytical capabilities, the role is focused on translating data into practical, forward-looking information that support driving business outcomes.
This position requires the ability to communicate insights effectively to internal stakeholders and, on occasion, to clients and broker partners. It is well-suited for individuals seeking to build expertise in commercial insurance and some reinsurance, underwriting strategy, and distribution, while gaining increasing exposure to brokers and clients. Over time, the role offers a pathway toward more externally facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze sales, distribution, and market data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Develop and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and presentations for sales leadership and business stakeholders.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support business development and strategic decision-making.
• Partner with Sales, Distribution, Underwriting, Operations, IT, and Marketing to gather requirements and support cross-functional initiatives.
• Develop and maintain understanding of appetite across all F&C lines of business.
• Can coordinate meetings, trainings, communications, and follow-through across multiple stakeholders.
• Support CRM-related activities, reporting accuracy, and process improvements that enhance team effectiveness.
• Prepare market reviews, financial and contractual comparisons, rate analyses, and other ad hoc business analyses.
• Assist with executive and client-facing activities, including meeting preparation, review materials, and follow-up communications.
• Contribute to business development projects, sales enablement materials, and distribution support initiatives.
• Maintain and organize distribution content, reports, and shared resources to ensure timely access to relevant information.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, streamline workflows, and strengthen data quality across the function.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional experience in the Property & Casualty space, ideally with exposure to large and complex accounts. Preference for commercial insurance background in underwriting or brokerage; reinsurance will be considered.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
• Ability to plan large or small client or management events.
• Data analysis techniques (e.g., A/B testing, association rule learning, cluster analysis, pattern recognition, and predictive modeling),
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide practical business recommendations.
• Ability to influence without authority.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and initiative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interacting in both internal and client-facing settings.
• Willingness to explore new technologies to enhance day-to-day output.
