Claims Accountant

Munich Re Madrid is responsible for Non-Life technical accounting and claims handling services for Iberia, Latin America, Caribbean and Italy. We are looking for a flexible and highly motivated Reinsurance Claims Accountant in this interesting, dynamic and international setting, contributing with expertise and engagement in the growing multicultural department.

Your job

• Review of claims notifications based on the Reinsurance terms and conditions and verifying calculations from our clients (insurance companies and reinsurance brokers).
• Processing the claims in our SAP systems
• Verifying payment requests for individual claims on the basis of the individual authorities
• Ensure data quality and perform claims quality checks.
• Close cooperation with Claims Managers, claims consultants, the Business units and the Reinsurance Accounting International Organization
• Correspondence/contact with cedants and brokers
• Assume responsibility for a specific group of clients
• Participate in challenging projects and working groups globally if applicable

Your profile

• Degree in administration, finance, economics or business sciences; recent graduates or individuals with less experience are also welcome.
• Knowledge of insurance claims, preferably also in reinsurance
• Expertise in MS-Office, particularly Excel, and in SAP tools
• Analytical skills and accuracy in dealing with figures
• Self-confident approach combined with a high degree of dedication to working effectively and independently, willing to face new responsibilities
• Strong communication skills, high degree of intercultural competence and team spirit.
• Good knowledge of Spanish and English (written and spoken). Italian and/or Portuguese is highly valued
• Being prepared to evolve into the role of Client Accountant by expanding the knowledge in the technical accounting area.
