Motor Underwriter

We started supporting clients in the Indian market in 1951 and  established our India Branch in Mumbai in 2017 to service the Non-Life and Life reinsurance markets in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Your Role: 

You will be involved in the pricing and maintenance of casualty treaties with focus on Motor insurance, with a focus on the following key responsibilities:

• Treaty pricing
• Post renewal treaty maintenance, working in coordination with the finance team
• Preparing presentations for various internal and external stakeholders
• Analysing client information, with a view to updating market summary/statistics
• Regular Client and broker interaction
• Conducting exposure analysis and underlying coverages
• Involved in updating and maintaining reinsurance wording and guidelines, as well as internal processes
• Ad hoc activities, including liaising with claims, facultative underwriters, and client managers, as required

Your Profile:

Education & Experience:

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Economics with a strong numerical aptitude
• Qualified / part-qualified Actuary, with at least 6 examinations passed
• 5+ years of pricing experience with retail products in the Indian market
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Basic understanding of reinsurance contracts
• Experience of Power BI, SAS, Macros, would be advantageous

Competencies:

• Analysis of run-off triangles and analysing portfolios from historical information
• Run dashboards for Casualty CoB from various data sources
