Actuarial Analyst - Biometrics

Support the Chief Actuary in delivering business-driven biometrics research and value-added analytics insights for the India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh markets. The individual will play an active role in supporting on internal experience projects for major clients and internal research initiatives, supporting all lines of business for Munich Re India’s operations and any Regional initiatives as and when required. 

Your Role: 

1. Conduct comprehensive analysis of experience on the available experience data and advise the valuation and pricing teams on assumptions and trends.
2. Perform back testing of using actual portfolio data to check adequacy of margins and assess the financial implication of deviations from assumptions
3. Conduct comprehensive analysis of the portfolio to identify trends, estimate their financial impact and advice internal stakeholders like business development, pricing, valuation and underwriting teams on related matters.
4. Assist in the preparation of the Terms of Trade for both Individual and group buisness
5. Building analytics tools and management dashboards to share live insights with the management team.
6. Support internal stakeholders like Business Development, Pricing and Underwriting teams on special projects and analysis.
7. Assist in the development of biometrics research and cross functional projects, as required.

Your Profile: 

Education & Experience 
Essential :

• Actuarial student who has completed Stage 1: Core Principles series (all 7) from IAI India or equivalent.
• Strong commitment to complete the Actuarial course
• Experience in life insurance or re-insurance company’s valuation team preferred

Good to Have:

• Experience in mortality / morbidity experience study would be preferred.

Competencies:

• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, power query and SQL (essential) and VBA (preferred)
• Exposure to Indian Statutory Reporting, Solvency II and IFRS17 would be preferred
• Excellent technical and analytical skills, logical and concise in approach and demonstrate attention to detail
• Self-motivated and able to work within a team environment, outcome focused
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
